Veteran News Anchor – TMJ4 (Milwaukee)
Susan Kim loves the people of Wisconsin because they instantly made her feel welcome when she started at WTMJ in 1994 (see photo). She started off working the assignment desk and reporting on everything under the sun. Susan soon left the scanners behind to focus on reporting full-time, and then began working on the anchor desk a couple years later.
The highlight of those years was covering the Packers Super Bowl runs, first in New Orleans and then in San Diego. She’ll never forget that scene on Bourbon Street during Super Bowl week: thousands of Packers fans filling the streets, chanting “Go Pack Go,” “Susan Kim! Susan Kim!” and “TMJ! TMJ!”. Susan first anchored what was then the “11:30 Report” and soon added the “4:30 Report” with Mike Jacobs to her duties.
In 2000, Susan moved to nights and continued co-anchoring the 4:30 newscast but also filled in on the 10:00 newscast. She moved to mornings and “Live at Daybreak” in 2003. As a part of the “Daybreak” crew, she has a 2:30am wake-up call with the show on from 5:00am – 7:00am every morning. She and Vince Vitrano have a great time sharing stories and the days news with the folks of southeast Wisconsin.
